Convert files without giving them away
Most file converters work by uploading your file to a server, processing it there, and sending it back. That means your documents, photos, and recordings pass through someone else's machine. porto.tools does it the other way around: the conversion happens on your device, and the file never leaves it.
Breadth, with privacy
The big converters earned their traffic with sheer coverage. We are closing that gap quickly, 58 tools and counting, while keeping the one thing they cannot retrofit: every tool runs locally. The goal is their breadth with our privacy.
Built on WebAssembly
Real conversion engines, compiled to WebAssembly, run inside the page. That is what makes the privacy structural rather than a policy: there is no upload step to trust, because there is no server in the path.
Open source and agent-ready
The engine source is on GitHub under the GNU AGPL-3.0 (dual-licensed AGPL-3.0 or commercial), so the on-device claim is auditable rather than asserted. We are also building toward first-class access for automation and AI agents, so the same private conversions can run inside your own workflows.
