Convert HEIC to JPG

Drop a HEIC or HEIF photo and get a JPG back — compatible with any device or app. The first time you use this tool the decoder downloads once (~1 MB); after that the browser uses its cached copy. Your file never leaves your device.

About HEIC to JPG

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default photo format on iPhone and iPad. It uses HEVC compression, which stores photos at roughly half the file size of JPG at comparable quality — a genuine improvement for storage. The tradeoff is compatibility: JPG is universally supported across every platform, app, and browser, while HEIC is not. Converting to JPG makes your photos easier to share, upload, or edit with software that doesn't support HEIC. The output file will typically be slightly larger than the original, because HEVC is more efficient than JPG's compression.

Is it private?

Yes. The converter is WebAssembly and browser APIs running on your own machine. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or seen by us — there is no server to send files to.

Frequently asked questions

What is HEIC, and why convert it to JPG?
HEIC is Apple's default photo format on iPhone and iPad. It stores photos at roughly half the file size of JPG at comparable quality, but it is not as widely supported. Converting to JPG makes your photos easier to share, upload, or edit with software that does not support HEIC.
Will the JPG be larger than the original HEIC?
Usually yes, slightly. HEIC uses HEVC compression, which is more efficient than JPG, so the converted file is typically a bit larger than the original even at comparable quality.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs on your device using WebAssembly and browser APIs. Your file is never sent anywhere. The first time you use the tool the decoder downloads once (about 1 MB), then the browser uses its cached copy.
Is it free, and do I need an account?
It is free with no watermarks, no daily caps, and no sign-up. Drop a file, convert it, and download the result.
