Unlock a protected PDF
Drop a password-protected PDF, enter the password it is locked with, and download a copy with the protection removed. The decryption runs entirely in your browser, so your file and your password never leave your device.
About unlocking PDFs
Unlocking a PDF removes the password that the file is currently encrypted with, so the copy you download opens without prompting for anything. This tool uses qpdf compiled to WebAssembly to decrypt the file with the password you supply. It does not crack or guess passwords, you have to know the one the PDF was protected with.
Is it private?
Yes. The decryption runs entirely in your browser using qpdf compiled to WebAssembly. Your file and your password are never uploaded, stored, or seen by us, because there is no server to send them to.
