About video cropping
Cropping removes pixels outside a rectangular region. Enter the width and height of the region you want to keep, and the x/y offset from the top-left corner of the original frame. For example, to keep a 1280×720 region starting at the 100-pixel mark on both axes, enter width 1280, height 720, x 100, y 100. If the crop rectangle falls outside the video frame, the conversion will fail — check that x + width ≤ the video's original width, and y + height ≤ its original height.
Unlike trimming, cropping requires a full re-encode of the video frames, which takes longer than stream copy. The audio stream is copied without re-encoding. Output quality uses H.264 at ffmpeg's default CRF 23.
Is it private?
Yes. The cropper is WebAssembly and browser APIs running on your own machine. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or seen by us — there is no server to send files to.
